Caroline Issa

The former management consultant turned magazine publisher and style icon, has discovered the holy grail in fashion: How to make practical pieces chic. Known for always topping off her elegant ensembles with a statement shoe, she's been customising her favourite pairs of MYSWEAR and we're already in love with them.

Why MYSWEAR?

I love anything you can personalise, so why not your sneakers as well? Admittedly a total time-suck, I was lost in all the options you can use to create your perfect pair of sneakers and for someone who is quite precise when it comes to NOT wearing heels, well, what better way than to create something that makes you happy and is all and only yours?

What would your super power be?

To see into the future.

What's the worst job you've done?

I count myself lucky to have only had jobs where i’ve learned a ton - onwards and upwards!

What’s your favourite smell?

Lipstick Rose by Frederic Malle. Reminds me of my mother’s lipstick when I was growing up.

What would be your fancy dress costume of choice?

Einstein

If you could go back in time where would you go?

I’d want to be in the room when the “Internet” was launched to the world.

How do you relax?

I read print magazines.

What is your favourite book?

I have too many to list here - but I’m currently on an Adam Thirwell bender!

Tiffany Hsu

Currently Buying Manager at mytheresa.com, Tiffany Hsu’s CV includes the equally prestigious Feathers, Lane Crawford and Selfridges. Needless to say that when it comes to buying, the (gorgeous) girl knows what she’s talking about. And being a design graduate from Saint Martins, she also can spot good craftsmanship a mile away. Well, this is good enough for us.

Why MYSWEAR?

Being a buyer and talking to designers on a regular basis, the urge to add my stamp on things is quite inherent to my job so this is the perfect project for me. And it is a lot of fun to do!

Probably working on the shop floor at Accessorize. I guess we all had to start somewhere.

What would be your fancy dress costume of choice?

Anything goth related.

Nick Sullivan

One of the most influential menswear editors in America, Esquire’s Fashion Director Nick Sullivan used to be a lecturer on the MA Fashion course at London Central Saint Martins. Nick is an avid collector of all things edwardian and tweed like, and can obsess quite a bit on the perfect suit and whether or not one should or shouldn’t wear tie clips.. Thanks to MYSWEAR you can shop Nick’s edit and be as cool as him. At least on your feet.

Why MYSWEAR?

I like sneakers the simplest they can be. And I like them to be luxurious too. The MYSwear customisation process allows them to be as pared-down as possible. Perhaps that's not the intention of it but I love it like that.

What would your super power be?

Omnipresence. There's not enough time to do all the things I need/want/have to do.

What's the worst job you've done?

I worked in a pub – a Berni Inn - that was part of a depressing chain when I was a student. One night they brought a box of brown velvet bow ties on elastic and said we all had to wear them. I resigned on the spot. When you know you know. But even that job was good experience while it lasted. All experience is good experience.

What’s your favourite smell?

Many things... Proper fresh gruyère, woodsmoke on clothes, the sea at low tide.

How do you relax?

Reading. Which invariably turns after a few pages into a nap. It’s a win win.

What or who is the love of your life?

My family. Work, everything else mentally, comes second, even when it can’t.

What phrase do you overuse?

Actually and Honestly. Bad habits.

Tell us a joke

Q: What is the difference between a duck?
A: "One of its legs is both the same". I’m not good at jokes...

Jessie Bush

Jessie Bush, the talented creative force behind Wethepeoplestyle blog is now based in Paris. Being Scandinavian looking and all, you could be forgiven into thinking that she is from Sweden- bathing in all her minimalist beauty, where she is actually a “Kiwi” (New Zealander) born and bred.

Charming, witty and a little bit gritty.

We couldn’t wait to have her as our next guest editor.

#girlcrush we say...

Why MYSWEAR?

I pretty much live in sneakers and flats even though I’m hardly the tallest (hello, I’m 5’3), so I always look out for super slick shoes that are beautifully made. Being able to make completely unique shoes via MYSWEAR just makes them that much more special.

What is the worst job you’ve done?

I worked in an 80’s bar in my first year of Uni. Disliked 80’s music ever since.

What is your favourite smell?

The beach.

What would be your fancy dress costume of choice?

Anything that doesn’t involve paint or glitter is fine by me.

What is your favorite word?

Cerebral.

Candice Lake

Candice Lake is one busy lady: photographer, model, contributing editor to VOGUE and for many (including us) a true digital influence!!

A one- woman- army, now on to her 5th season with her own fashion label Candidate, Candice shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon..

We asked Candice to be our next Guest Editor, when she was 9 months pregnant with her 2nd child (that's right, already her second child- and clear proof of her superwoman credentials).

With a new addition to the family due to arrive anytime, shoes would be the last thing on most women's minds.

...But then Candice, as you can see, isn't really like most women.

Eight shoe designs, one Q&A  and a beautiful baby Girl later we are delighted to share Candice's edit for MYSWEAR, below.

It’s so good we can't even tell you ;)

Enjoy!

What would your super power be?

I would love to have an invisiblity cloak.

What is the worst job you’ve done?

Browns Fashion

Browns is the South Molton Street, luxury shopping playground to the Sartorial Elite.

For over 40 years, Browns has championed up- and- coming designers such as: Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and Christopher Kane to name but a few,  and have introduced us to now household international brands: Armani, Ralph Lauren, Commes des Garcons... the list goes on… and NOW we are super excited to say, our very own MYSWEAR corner!

Steeped in history and a loyal black book of customers, Browns is a London institution. Let’s face it, if Browns doesn't have it or get it first, then you need to be asking yourself: is it really worth having? Seriously!!

Browns buyers are the best at what they do, they buy only what they like, relying strongly on intuition and "that feeling".  They have to be good at what they do: they dictate what the rich and famous (and if our bank accounts allow it us, the mere mortals) will be wearing every new season. It’s not an easy task!!

So, who better to ask to do this months edit and help us celebrate our arrival to the store than… yep, you guessed it:  BROWNS.

Charles Davis, Men's store Manager generously gave us his time to let us in to the Browns world and their Top 8 MYSWEAR edit.

Why MYSWEAR?

Because I think Myswear is a great idea, it has the potential to be huge. It allows‎ the user to play, create and set you own footwear trends depending on your mood.

What would your super power be?

To be able to fly or to be invisible. I love to people watch. I could do it all day.

What is the worst job you’ve done?

My two day attempt at being a builder in Sydney, Australia during a break from university. It was too hot and I didn't have any muscles, but I was quite good apparently!

What is your favourite smell?

The smell of rain‎ after a storm especially somewhere hot like Africa or Brazil.

How do you relax?

Dinner and conversations with friends ‎or play fighting with my God son's in the garden in Paris.

What phrase do you overuse?

Full on!

Tell us a joke

I don't do jokes.

Martine Rose

This month's guest editor, menswear designer Martine Rose is Hot Property.  Since her debut in 2007 with a collection of 10 shirts at a nightclub in Soho she has caught the eye of many buyers, editors and stylists.

Martine won the British Fashion Council NewGen Award in 2013, showcased her SS13 collection at the 1st London Collections: Mens Show and if that wasn't enough collaborated with Browns for AW13...

With the same enthusiasm as in 2013, Martine has gone on to partner with and collaborate over the years with some of fashion's most influential people, creating along the way a celebrity cult following, you may have heard of Drake or Rihanna!!

Going on to be nominated for the much coveted LVMH prize in 2015, Martine proved yet again that she is only headed in one direction and that is to the top!

We are so privileged to have Martine find the time, in what we can tell  you is one busy diary to answer a few questions and design an edit for us here at MYSWEAR.

One that she thinks captures the essence of her SS17 collection and one that we think shows her magic touch.

Why MYSWEAR?

I wanted the opportunity to curate these Iconic styles in a way that would compliment and reflect both of our DNA.

What or who inspires you?

I can be inspired by sitting on a bus, over hearing a conversation, listening to a song or watching a film.  Really inspiration in it broadest sense for me is observing life.

I'm inspired by fearless people, people that approach life with 100% energy and zest.

Name your guilty pleasure?

A good TK Max gem.

Top 3 studio tunes?

Prince - If I was your Girlfriend

Smokey - I will always love you

James Duigan

This month's editor James is the founding father of Bodyism... A philosophy based on living / eating clean and lean and for the last 10 years it has been his mission to spread the word and motivate people from all around the world.

With gyms in London, Turkey, Maldives and Capri, best selling books and an active wear brand that sells out in minutes, this makes James the go to man for celebrities such as Lara Stone, David Gandy and Emilia Clarke when they need to perfect perfection.

With an holistic approach Bodyism is a lifestyle choice rather than just a gym to work out in and what makes James' revolutionary approach so special is that he has created an environment that makes you feel healthy just by stepping through the front door. With pure oxygenated air and light that expels vitamin D to maintain optimal health levels it almost makes you forget that you are in for one gruelling work out ahead.

So this month with the focus on the Olympics and sport we thought we ask the guru of all things fit and healthy to design a pair of shoes that he thinks captures the spirit of Bodyism and above all else what he would like to put on after a busy day of changing people's lives.

Why MYSWEAR?

MYSWEAR because it allowed me to be creative with incredible materials and amazing people, it’s more than just a pair of shoes it’s an experience.

What's the worst job you have ever done?

I worked on a farm for a day - I’m still recovering. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It gave me a deep appreciation for people that actually ‘work’.

Top 3 motivating workout tunes:

1. Tiny Dancer- Elton John (I’m not joking)

2. Pretty much anything by Guns’n’Roses

3. Powderfinger (the band)

What or who is the love of your life?

If it’s what - it’s the ocean- its my happiest place. And if it’s who unquestionably my wife. We’ve had such an incredible love story and I love living it every day.

What motivates you to succeed?

Initially it was low self esteem I needed to prove something to everyone and now it’s for my family but what I see as success has changed for me. Success now is having more time with my family and the people that i love and being proud of everything I do.

How do you relax?

I relax with my children jumping all over me, doing jiu jitsu, or surfing.

Who is your personal hero?

My dad. Without a doubt he was the kindest, strongest and most gentle person Ive ever known. He died in my arms three years ago and to the very end he never stopped being brave and loving.

As its the olympics, what is your favourite event?

Gymnastics is just an incredible display of raw athleticism. I have absolutely no idea what’s going on but i can appreciate how incredible they are.

Stay blessed - but I genuinely mean it when I say it as I hope everyone stays healthy and in good fortune both spiritually and financially.

Most memorable moment of your life so far?

Probably the time I zip-line jumped off a 30 story building onto the top of the Dubai Mall despite having the worst fear of heights. It felt like an achievement that I was able to overcome my fear and complete the challenge.

We are very happy to introduce this months Guest Editor Pascaline Smets, the super stylish Buying Director for Smets and as her surname hints the Heiress to the family business.

Smets is the brain child of Pascaline's mother Carine who opened a children's store in 1986 and then went on to open a second store offering womenswear. Pascaline's father Thierry joined the business in 2001 overseeing all financials and then finally to complete the family circle Pascaline.

Bernard Fouquet

Bernard Fouquet along with his uber-talented son Nick are this month’s MY SWEAR guest Editors.

If you are thinking you may have seen Bernard before you are not wrong. He has been the long-time face of the father in Tommy Hilfiger campaigns and modeled for numerous other campaigns and covers.

Not only does he play the Dad on print to a large happy family but in this case, art truly does imitate life. A doting husband and proud father to six children he personifies the Hilfiger look. Bernard is a true gentleman and his style exudes that, with his charming good looks/ distinct style and ALWAYS the consummate professional.

We couldn’t be happier to have him and Nick joining us for this month’s edit.

Why MYSWEAR?

The fact you can create your own pair of sneakers is just fantastic, picking the best material and create a luxury one is also just amazing, suede, crocodile, ostrich and more, mixing them to create is just fun and the result is just awesome. Loved doing it and just feel like I am a shoe designer now!

Nick Fouquet

Nick Fouquet is the junior half of our inspirational duo this month.

Born in New York in 1982 Nick has travelled a long way to get to where he is today, Venice Beach California by way of France, Australia, NYC and Colorado and really too many exotic places to name.

It was a chance meeting on Venice Beach with a cowboy wearing a stetson that the realisation came to Nick that hats were undervalued in fashion… 3 years later, a studio filled with antique hat making equipment sourced from the midwest, Nick Fouquet's dream was a reality.

Now selling worldwide and with a rather large celebrity fan base, Pharrell is usually seen wearing Nick’s hats - it is the workmanship and ethical sourcing of fabrics that make Nick Fouquet’s hats truly works of art. Each felt hat is 100% beaver felt and with approx 22 steps in the process to get a finished design is what keeps us in awe of his creativity and attention to detail.

To have such a purveyor of good taste and talent, that is Nick Fouquet, contribute to this month’s edit is truly an honour and to have his father Bernard who is a true gentleman join us for a double Fouquet edit makes it even more special.

Daphne Selfe

Daphne Selfe has been modeling since 1949. Born in London in 1928, Daphne is a true veteran of our industry and certainly one of the most experienced fashion models around.

Daphne even made the Guinness Book of Records, as the longest-serving professional fashion model of our times and quoted as "Officially Amazing"! We couldn't agree more.

With a career spanning 60 years, there is truly nothing this woman can not achieve such as recent features in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Gap, Nivea to name but a few.

However, it is Daphne's curiosity and zest for life that we found truly inspiring and contagious. A stance she actively propagates via her website urging us to get most of our lives... check it out!

During our work together, Daphne was, in true supermodel fashion, jetting internationally for various events and appearances. We even spotted her on Vogue Japan, in an amazing video where she tells Japanese fans all about her MYSWEAR designs. Whilst people of Daphne's age are perhaps slowing down, Daphne is still in the fast lane, actively still working , traveling and loving life. We are so inspired by Daphne and it is our honor to welcome her as our Guest Editor - with one of the most special edits to date.

A fan of color and all things bright Daphne has put together a happy, feel good edit that we know you will love, you can check out and shop it HERE.

Enjoy!

What is the worst job you have done?

I have been on a few jobs over the years and one of the toughest was as a film extra in extreme temperatures. Waiting hours in either the extreme heat or freezing cold to have a walk in the background part, is not much fun!

What’s your favorite smell?

Fresh Roses or Lavender.

How do you relax?

Gardening or Painting. Some may see it as ‘labour’ or ‘work’ but it’s those pockets of time that you get to be engrossed and focused in another creative area of your life. It’s using another part of your brain, that relaxes me.

What or who is the love of your life?

Well, of course, my late husband but also Horses and Cats.

What phrase do you overuse?

‘Oh isn’t that lovely ‘or ‘Lovely to see you’.

Tell us a joke

What do you call an underground train full of professors?
